I’ve got a new book out today! This one is the third volume in my Elemental Anthologies series from Tyche Books — Air: Sylphs, Spirits and Swan Maidens.
There are a lot of things that I love about Air, and one of them is that there are a significant number of poems in this one. Now, first of all, if you think of poetry as stuffy, boring and tough to understand you don’t know my taste in poetry 🙂 I like it to be accessible. I don’t want to have to have a collection of undergraduate degrees to ‘get’ it. I don’t mind working for things a bit (in prose as well as poetry) but I have no patience for people just showing off how smart they are.Â
So it’s not that kind of poetry.
And the poetry doesn’t have a monopoly on beautiful imagery either. The stories have more than their fair share of fantastic descriptions, beautiful turns of phrase and engaging plots.
I’m really pleased with this anthology and excited to share it with you. If you haven’t picked up a copy I hope you do… and if you have I hope you’ll enjoy it enough to leave a review when you’re done 🙂

Whimsical, Inquisitive, Quick-Witted
Air is essential for life. The need for air is so important that breathing is instinctual. Yet Air is unstable and capricious, blowing gently as a summer breeze in one moment and blasting with the fury of a tornado in the next. No wonder that tricksters, fairies, and spirits belong to Air just as much as winged creatures. Elusive and ethereal, Air’s denizens are difficult to find and harder to capture.
Brave the ever-changing world of Air with these twenty-one stories and poems, featuring: Rose Strickman; Davian Aw; Mark Bruce; Alexandra Seidel; Damascus Mincemeyer; Cherry Potts; Ellen Huang; Giselle Leeb; Bronwynn Erskine; Kevin Cockle; Elizabeth R. McClellan; Chadwick Ginther; Christa Hogan; Rowena McGowan; Laura VanArendonk Baugh; Alyson Faye; Mara Malins; Sara C. Walker; Elise Forier Edie; Oliver Smith; and Sarah Van Goethem.
