I first created this website in 2006, and in the fourteen years between then and when I’m writing this now it just kept getting slower and slower. Even moving to dedicated hosting didn’t help very much. So, in April 2020 I blew it all up to start over. As part of that process I’ve begun doing most of my blogging over at Patreon. Thus, you can find all of that right here –> Rhonda Parrish’s Patreon.
Not only can you read many of the posts there without being a paid patron (including all the Calls for Submissions and important updates) if you click the ‘follow’ button on that page it will email you whenever I post a public update as well.
Also, even though I blew up the old blog that was here I wasn’t willing to lose fourteen years worth of work.
Luckily for me, my friend BD Wilson knows a thing or two about this kind of stuff and was willing to help me out. BD archived the old blog for me, so if you’re looking for something that was posted pre-April 2020 your best bet is going to be to check here –> RhondaParrish.com Blog Archive
Really important updates like book releases will also be blogged here as ‘Important announcements’.
Important Announcements
Neon Magazine
Every time I sell a poem or a story it's nice, but some of those publications are more special than others. The one I get to announce today is one of those 'special' ones because it's something I have wanted for a long time. I wanted to look and see how long, but I...
Release Day: Untethered
A couple years ago I started a Patreon and invited my patrons to help me pick which projects I ought to work on and even earmarked a % of the money from the Patreon to the project they chose. The first thing they picked was a novel I wanted to write -- that will be...
F is for Fairy — only $0.99!
Marketing and promotion is tough at the best of times, right? Not only trying to find a way to be heard but to let people know about what I'm doing, what books and stories and poems I have coming out without starting to sound more like a commercial than a person. And...
Goals for 2022
Each January I like to take some time to set goals for myself for the coming year. It's something that has, historically, really helped me stay focused on things and get stuff done. Plus, the process of sitting down to think through what goals I'd like to set always...
Chatting with Nicola Kapron
As we were moving closer to the release of Trenchcoats, Towers and Trolls I spoke to some of the contributors about their stories and what inspired them. I put together a blog post showcasing their answers to those questions here. For this blog post I'm asking the...
Inspiration, Hope and a Secret from Ana Sun
Trenchcoats, Towers and Trolls, which came out just this week, includes Ana Sun's story, "The Rabbit in the Moon". To help celebrate that release, Ana is here at my blog to talk a wee bit about what inspired it. This post contains some of her inspirations, a bit about...
Release Day: Trenchcoats, Towers and Trolls
Today is release day for my latest anthology, but it's something more than that as well because Trenchcoats, Towers and Trolls is also the final book in the Punked Up Fairy Tales series. Every release day is a tornado of different emotions -- pride, anxiety, relief,...
Three Questions with Three TTT Authors
As we creep ever closer to the release of Trenchcoats, Towers and Trolls I wanted to take a little peek behind the scenes and talk to some of the contributors about their stories and what inspired them. But rather than do a handful of long interviews, I asked them all...
Looking Back at 2021
I find it helpful to set goals for myself at the beginning of each year and then look back and assess them at the end of the year. It provides a bit of a roadmap, almost, for the year and I check back on it every few months to remind myself what January Rhonda wanted...
Cover Reveal: Untethered
So, here's the thing... the timing on this is a little awkward but the truth is, I just couldn't wait any longer to share this cover. Designed by Psycat Studios, I'm super, super stoked to share the purple beauty that is Untethered.Unicorns locked away in the cargo...
