“Wrong Turn” a short story inspired by the NaNoLJers Word of the Week “Labyrinth” has been accepted for publication at Sorcerous Signals. That is a wonderful way to start the month of July if you ask me 🙂 I can’t wait until it gets published this fall because it’s one of my favorite stories — in fact, it’s one I’ve mentioned here before when I was talking about the balancing act between trusting your reader and smacking them in the face with ideas. I look forward to seeing what the readers of Sorcerous Signals think of it 🙂

Fatherhood Shines Again
My drabble, Fatherhood, has been scheduled to make an appearance in the summer issue of IdeaGems. I will, of course, post a link to it once it’s up and running, but if you just can’t wait you could always check it out from the links to the left 😉
In other news my short story, Sheltered, was published by Purpose and I received my contributors copies the other day. As much as I love being published online, and most of my publishing credits are online ones, there is something very satisfying about seeing your name in physical print — in a publication you can hold in your hands.
Sandcastle #5 Accepted
I know haiku aren’t supposed to have titles, but mine do — they need to or I’d have no chance of keeping track of them 🙂 Why am I telling you this? I guess I’m thinking about haiku a lot lately — I’ve written many in recent months and started submitting them to markets. It all started with Sandcastle #5. Wild Child Publishing accepted and published it, the first haiku I wrote since leaving high school. Happily, that isn’t the end of Sandcastle #5’s story — I just heard back from Static Movement and they’ve accepted it for their July issue.
Yay!
Hopefully I’ll have good news about some of my other haiku in the near future 🙂
How To Save The World Accepted
Today I found out that my rant erm, essay, “How To Save The World” has been accepted at Poor Mojo’s Almanac(k). Yay! I really like Poor Mojo’s as a market — they are laid back, funny, and they accept reprints, what’s not to like? 🙂 I’ll update later when the story goes live 🙂
Poetry Accepted @ La Fenetre
I’ve had two poems accepted at La Fenetre 🙂 The first is a rictameter called “Lazy” that I wrote one morning chastising myself (bet you can guess what for LoL).
The second poem, “Ms. Chong’s Room” is a poem for kids (complete with rhymes) about a teacher named Ms. Chong. My daughter’s grade two teacher was named Ms. Chong, I helped out two mornings a week in her classroom all last year, and this year, though my daughter is in grade three I still help out in Ms. Chong’s room two mornings a week. Is the title of a poem a coincidence? I think not 😉
The Doll
Another piece of flash fiction a’la moi has found somewhere to call home. “The Doll” is a very short, but powerful, story that is due to make an appearance in Burst Literary Ezine this fall. Yay! You’re going to love this one — honest. I wish I could offer a sneak peek but for somewhat obvious reasons that’s not going to happen 🙂
Accepted At Poor Mojo’s Almanak
Again the Giant Squid has blessed me with an acceptance 🙂 My uber-short piece, A Dozen Things, will be published at Poor Mojo’s Almanak sometime in the coming days — I’ll keep you up to date and post a link as soon as it goes live 🙂
BondageWhore Accepted
My BDSM sonnet, “BondageWhore” has been accepted at Oysters and Chocolate Erotic — yay! It’s due to be published in the May 2007 issue, so keep your eyes peeled, I’ll definitely be linking to it once it’s up 🙂
There’s Always a Catch Accepted
My short story, “There’s Always a Catch” has been accepted at Mount Zion Speculative Fiction — yay! I’m very excited not only because it’s another awesome publication credit in a great magazine but because part of my payment is a contributor’s copy, and I wanted to read the magazine anyway 🙂
Yes, I really am that easy to please.
I’m not sure when it’s due to be published, but to say that I’m happy would be a serious understatement.
Big Bear Accepted at T-Zero
“Big Bear” is a flash story I wrote based on my time working as a bartender in little village called Milo. I worked as a bartender there for a few years (three I think) and in that time I gathered enough material to create boat-loads of incredible characters.
Right now I’m pretty stoked about the story because it’s been accepted for publication at T-Zero which is a paying market *cheers* Rumor is the story will be in the May issue — I’ll keep you updated for sure.
Accepted at SHINE
My poem, Sandcastle #5, has been accepted for publication in the Summer issue of SHINE. This is the second time this haiku will have been published, which, as you can imagine, makes me very happy 🙂
