This year I’m participating in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge again. I thought it might be fun to share some of my photography instead of always my words. They say a picture is worth–well, you know what they say 😉
I will try to keep these blog posts short and sweet, while still offering a little bit of insight into each photograph, just for fun.

I is for Ice and Frost
Isn’t it weird how some words sound ‘wrong’ when they follow one another in the wrong order? To my ear ‘frost and ice’ sounds fine, but ‘ice and frost’ is off somehow. Still, it has to be Ice and Frost to fit the alphabet theme, so there you go 😉 I would have made today’s theme ‘Ice and Snow’ (which sound right) but I’m kinda planning on making S stand for Snow… so there’s that…
I took this one in my yard at some point… Great description, right? Even better I’ve titled it ‘Branchy’
I took this picture from a bridge looking down at the North Saskatchewan river as it was just beginning to freeze up. I don’t usually love abstract-y photographs, but this one I’m a fan of 😉
LOVE your photos. Beautiful.
Thank you very much 🙂
I really like the Branchy one a lot. The individual icicles are super cool!
Thank you 🙂 My choice for favourite seems to change daily LoL
Ice and frost were not my friends this winter – still recovering.
Your shots are magnificent!

Thank you! Our winter here in Edmonton didn’t seem that bad this year, especially compared to some of the storms down East. That said, I’ll be happy to see all the snow melt and my yard dry up LoL
Breathtaking. I just watched the “making of” documentary on FROZEN and they showed some amazing renderings of snow and ice done by a Disney artist in the 1950s.
Thank you!
I thought the ice, water and snow on Frozen were very well done… of course, they’d have to be, I guess LoL
You are a really gifted photographer, Rhonda – these are gorgeous. You always have such lovely clarity and light in your pictures. I really love coming to see them every day!
That might be the nicest thing I’ve read all day. Thank you VERY much.
Ice is such a beautiful and interesting subject. I think you’ve done a wonderful job with both photographs Rhonda; although they’re different neither is less beautiful than the other.
Thank you Jen, I really appreciate that 🙂
I love pictures of frost. Great site! It’s very colorful and dynamic.

Thank you! Usually it’s all about writing but for this month I decided to use fewer words and more pictures 😉
Great photos, but I have to say I’m about done with ice and frost and their nasty companions after this winter. Can’t S be for sun? 😉 Or summer? Or songbirds? I beg of you!
LoL sorry dude, I’m pretty freaking tired of winter too (and I know you had it worse this year than we did) but I’ve already pre-scheduled all these posts so… yeah.
I love seeing the rivers and lakes freezing over as it is something I never got to see growing up. It doesn’t happen a lot here in VA but this winter it was cold enough for some of the retention ponds to freeze a few times.

LoL I’m kind of envious of your winters 🙂
I love it when frost covers everything and it’s all white and sparkling. And while I hate the cold, seeing the river and lakes frozen is a lot of fun because of how the ice freezes. Lovely photos.
LoL I’m with you. I like how pretty winter can sometimes be, but I’m not a fan of -40 LOL
Frost and Ice can definitely make for some beautiful pictures. I tool a few myself this morning, I’m a little sad to say…
Snow on the ground here too (it fell last night) so I totally feel your pain. *sigh*
