I’m super excited to share my poem, Sort of Like a Cat which was published today at Every Day Poets. Yay! I wrote this poem as a part of a last year’s November poem-a-day challenge. It was inspired by a real event that happened many years ago on my first trip to England.
Please click on over and give it a read. It’s a good way to get yourself in the mood for Halloween tomorrow 😉
Ooo, nice. Gave me a fun shiver, for sure. And given that it really happened, it’s creepier still.
Thank you very much 🙂 That was my first expirience seeing a rat. A big freaking rat. Ever since that I’ve had a thing against rats *shudder*
Congrats – off to have a read…
Thank you, Simon, and thank you for leaving a comment over there too 🙂
Left you a comment over there; nice work!
…AND way to go on meeting and beating your Write1Sub1 goals last month! 2013 will be here before we know it.
Thank you for the comment and the congratulations 🙂
Congratulations on making Write1Sub1 for October. From your response to my post on W1S1 it is an interesting idea to consider a chapter from a novel as a W1S1 goal but I don’t have enough backlog to meet the subbing part of the challenge. On the other hand the few times I did NanNo by the end I was sick of the novel and never went back to it. I’ll figure out something.
Thank you 🙂
The lack of backlog could be a problem, I suppose. Alas. It sounds like you’re really thinking hard about this though, I look forward to seeing what solution you come up with 🙂
Congratulations on meeting your W1S1 goals. Great poem!
Thank you very much Linda 🙂
Congrats on W1S1 and on having your delightfully shivery poem published. Perfect for Halloween, indeed!
Thank you Jillian, I was very pleased 🙂
Congratulations on having your poem published, Rhonda! I’m not surprised to hear it–it’s a wonderful distillation of a creeped-out moment! poem. (Also left a comment over at Every Day Poets.)
Thank you, thank you. That’s one thank you for each comment. 🙂
I really liked your ‘Skittery’ poem too 😉
Congratulations! Skittering is one of my favourite words. And good job on hitting your W1S1 goals.
Thank you Debs 🙂
I see that we’re also both doing the Poem a Day challenge this month. Good luck!
