This year I’m participating in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge again. I thought it might be fun to share some of my photography instead of always my words. They say a picture is worth–well, you know what they say 😉
I will try to keep these blog posts short and sweet, while still offering a little bit of insight into each photograph, just for fun.

R is for Red
I don’t remember what the story behind this one was… but it’s red, and flowery, and I like it… so there’s that…
I took a solo photo safari to the U of A campus and before I headed out I asked for photo prompts. A friend said ‘red leaves’. It was autumn, that made it a perfectly reasonable prompt… but I couldn’t find a freaking red leaf anywhere. Yellow, orange, brown and green, no problem. Red? LoL No way. Then I found this one.
One Sunday I went into the university and took some pictures in one of the student labs there. This is one of them (I don’t remember what that thing is… What? I’m not the scientist in the family LoL):
I did a collaborative project a couple years ago that was a cookbook. This is one of the photographs I took for it:
Lastly, when we were in Nova Scotia in 2012 we went whale watching. Well, I should say, we went out into the middle of the ocean to see whales, but there were no whales to be seen LOL Anyway, this is the flag from the back of our boat 🙂
love your red pictures! and a photographic tour of you thru a to z! nice!
Thank you Tara. I admit, I partly did the photographs because at the time pictures seemed easier than words LoL
Red leaves are so beautiful. This one pops really well in your photo. Wonderful job!
Thank you Kris, I just wish I’d been able to find more than one red leaf that day LOL
Red is one of my favorite colors – I bucked tradition and wore at my wedding, which was totally non-traditional anyway, so it all worked out fine 🙂 These are lovely, as always!
I think it’s traditional to wear red wedding dresses in some Eastern cultures 🙂
Isn’t red the most vivid, vibrant colors? I love it!

It’s not my #1 favourite, but I like it, and it photographs well LOL
I loved your photos. you have quite an eye. I generally want to read content but these are so beautiful the eclipse the narrative. Very nice indeed! Hope to see (and read) more. Good luck with the A-Z!
Thank you very much! That’s a wonderfully flattering thing to say 🙂
That’s a gorgeous flower. I’d love to know what it is so I could grow it. 🙂
Looking at it again, I think it’s one of our crabapple trees right before it starts flowering in pink. If spring ever arrives I’ll be sure and take a really close look to verify that for you 🙂
Living in California we don’t see a whole lot of leaf changing. I went to New England one October and couldn’t believe the amazing array of leaf colors.
I’d like to visit New England some autumn myself. It’s on my travel wishlist… unfortunately it’s a really long wishlist 😉
Beautiful red photos! Red is such a rich color, especially when found in nature. I’d love to go whale watching, of course it would be nice if the whales showed up too! Lovely R day! 🙂
LoL I really wish the whales had shown up. It was quite discouraging, but I think I’d try it again someday… perhaps just with a little less optimism LoL
I love when I can actually find red leaves. It is hard to find these in Southern California.
I like the color red but it’s not my favorite color (green is). When I see red I think of energy. I know that red can mean anger also. Great “red” pictures!
